INSTALLATIONS

BLUE - A multi-screen video grid containing the personal histories of ordinary people. Sponsored by Samsung Canada. Continuous loop, 2008.

Always Wanting What I Do Not Have - An interactive video projection involving a live camera feed and the viewer’s own desire for change. 15 minute loop, 2007.

FLOW - A video triptych that explores the beauty and tension of bodies in motion underwater. Experimental, 11 minute loop, 2004.

Habitat - Installations exploring the photographic construction of space and values associated with the family home, 1999 – 2001.

THE HOUND PROJECT - A public-space photo installation commenting on the relationship between politicians and voters, 2000.

FILMS / VIDEOS

disobey - A young man decides he can no longer sit by while his people are being brutalized. An unsettling look at the seeds of hatred and the complex zone between justice and revenge. 9 minute drama, 2008.

Still Light - A moment from Hitchcock’s Vertigo provokes this exploration of loss and lineage.  Experimental 16mm and Super 8mm. 4 ½ minutes, 2007.

close & low - Avideo that explores a dog’s raw and noble qualities and how they elude one man. Experimental, 4 ½ minutes, 2006.

Anonymous - Producer/Writer/Director/Editor.  A half-hour drama, 1998.

Animal Tracks -  Co-Producer/Writer/Director/Editor.  A 28-minute experimental documentary, 1995.

The Royal Conservatory of Music -  Producer/Director/Editor.  A 20-minute documentary, 1993.

Hall Noises -  Director/Co-Producer.  A 24-minute film drama, 1992.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Capital – New work, in progress. Large format colour photos of living spaces dominated by large HD televisions. 2007 – present.

Sleepwalk - A series of colour night photographs exploring the dramatic potential of mundane places, 1996 - 2000.

Vet Clinic - a series of 15 black & white photos depicting the activities and emergencies in a suburban veterinary hospital, 1988.

ZOO - A series of 25 black & white photographs examining human/animal relations, 1987.

Golden Years - A series of 20 black & white photographs depicting life in a nursing home, 1985.

Courses delivered include Intro 16mm Cinematography, Intro Videography and Video Production to first-year Film & TV students, Multimedia and Media Foundation students. Design of course outline and curriculum delivery strategy. Production and delivery of course content and relevant teaching materials.

Instructor - Haliburton School of the Arts, Beyond the Borders installation course. December 2006. Course curriculum design and delivery focused on the production of unconventional photographic imagery and strategies for exhibition.
